the Gospel according to judas

Post by Iggy »

I assume that everyone has herd about the "Gospel of Judas" found in 1970 in Egypt... they just put it back together and over the last few weeks, it's been more and more in the news. one could look at this one of two ways.

One - God allowed this "Gospel" to be found in order for us to know another piece of the puzzle.

Two - Satan made this book available to mislead people...

i'll tell you what, if it's true, then it's got me confused!

Check it out for your self, i already know what most of you will say... but check it out anyways.

This is Gnostic — the stuff St Paul warns Christians about. It contains — so called secret knowledge and this theme is interwoven throughout it. It is a writing used to promote Gnostic doctrine and call to question Christianity. Some may attempt to replace Christianity with a palatable form of superior religion system based on Gnosticism.

As pointed out in another thread, this link does not go to the Gospel of Judas. This is the Gospel of Thomas from Nag Hammadi.

Thomas actually has more to examone because it is just sayings attributed to Christ without out any narrative context.

The recent Judas Gospel is so gnostic and infused with angels, aeons, spirituls levels etc, it has next to no credibility historically as anything other than a gnostic pseudopigraphal work.

This "gospel" wasnt written by Judas. It wasnt even written until after the 2nd century.
