If they are not put above God and you still keep your promises with him I say it'll be fine.
And if you still do what The Lord wants/needs of you and are always on time you should be ok I believe.

I agree with the spirit of your post. Put simply, I think a fair statement is that "if they do not interfere with your walk with the Lord, then they are fine." But you've gotta be careful that you don't delude yourself into thinking they are not interferring when in fact they are.
