The research found many people view followers of established churches as judgmental, arrogant and unwilling to listen.
My translation: The research found many people don't want to hear what G_d has to say regarding their chosen lifestyle as it conflicts with what they want to do.

2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Act 7:51 Ye stiff necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
The United Church of Canada must establish its own unique positioning, promote its own values and help people break damaging stereotypes of organized religion
Isa 32:5 The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.

Isa 32:6 For the vile person will speak villainy, and his heart will work iniquity, to practice hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.

The United (read Liberal) Church of Canada is what you get when leaders bend and in some cases break under pressure not to 'offend' anyone.

Just went to their website for a look see and lo, not so much as a scripture on their front page, but I did see this at the top left:
This week on Spirit Connection
Affirming Congregations

Creating inclusive communities and embracing diversity, regardless of sexual orientation, is vital to the life and work of Affirm congregations and ministries. This episode consists of two stories of United Church congregations who have made the choice to be Affirming congregations.
Rev 2:19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
Rev 2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
Rev 2:21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
Rev 2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
