Evidence for God from Science

OK so this is very open to interpretation do you think that eating unhealthy foods ever now and then is destroying your body? God's temple? I mean after all we could just eat vegetables and some meat.

Strict literal translation, it seems, might put "eating unhealthy" into the category of sin.

I would argue that a simplified explanation of sin is "something of a destructive nature".

My pragmatist (and more closely held) belief is that the sum is greater than it's peices - being healthy, overall, is more important. Eating some fatty popcorn or a hamburger from Burgerking is hardly destructive (as a whole). But a lifestyle of unhealthy eating is destructive. On principle I stay as healthy as I can despite occasion lapses and I don't think that eating a burger is destructive. But then again... I'm "of the world" in the stance.

Also, I don't believe in sin. My pragmatist philosophy is that of avoiding destructive actions - not that there will be an eternal consequence for eating some chocolate.

Just to post the context to show that the verses you're referring to are strictly against sexual immorality.

1 Corinthians 6
12"Everything is permissible for me"—but not everything is beneficial. So...? Your interpretation of that is what? Eating unhealthy is perfectly ok, just watch out for that whole "sexually immoral" stuff?

I don't feel that what you pasted in here addresses the issue - unless your intent was to transpose that glob to eating habits.

Only thing that seemed applicable was: "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body."

Which says nothing about eating... it's just a generalized perspective to hold while, I suppose, doing ANYTHING. And it seems the point of this is "don't do anything to hurt yourself or other." Which is what I said.
