All nice posts :) but on what exactly should we focus during Easter? I know it's after it now, but... I know the general answer to my question - on resurrection of Christ and that.
But how should time be spent on the Easter days? Should we: give something up (on Good Friday, e.g. not drink alcohol, not watch non-biblical stuff on TV, not play comp games we would enjoy, not listen to non-religious music we normally like) and then read a few chapters from Bible, give a 5 minute prayer we normally would not, thank God for His love and think about how the events happened 2000 yrs ago and then go to church from Thursday to Sunday, try to be nicer to other people and all that? Does that sound like a good way to spend Easter (and similarly also Xmas only not really to give up :P stuff)?
Because for example it's also the atmosphere. 2 yrs ago and before when i was woth my family in friends back in SK it did feel like Easter. OK yes i did go to church here, and did give up some music - instead i tried to listen to religious stuff on some radio :P etc. But then again it did not feel like Easter at all this year :crying: it is all atmosphere and all that as well. Could be because normally I'd be with friends and family and that would feel like it. Therefore this year's Easter I would rather not like to think of. I think not much happened and I could have spent time in a better way than I have. Moreover my family, for example, did not do much to make this Easter a nicer one - common fights over stupid ridiculous things did not get any better and this set the tension even more. Now i wonder if Xmas and Easter sometimes don't make it worse when all family is at home and gets fed up one with another... :shakehead:
And as for the giving up, the Lent - it is not an obligation but on Good Friday how should a Christian spend his day? Because I feel i did not do enough. Whilst my younger sisters for example did not seem to give much up, I at least tried not to eat candy, listen to favorite music etc.

I think it is significant for us Christians to do at least a minimum so that we are satisfied at least with ourselves and do a bit more for us, relationship with God and other people that we would not normally.

Any thoughts?
