The article states that ex-servicemen (and women) will get preferential treatment for housing and health-care. My initial reaction was agreement but then I realised that surely this goes against biblical teaching? The bible teaches us not to treat anyone differently but to treat others as we would like to be treated.
Why are ex-servicemen singled out for special treatment? Why not nurses, firemen, coastguards, teachers etc. Why should an ex-servicemen that needs an operation be considered to be of higher priority than a gas station attendent that needs an operation? Does risking your life for your country mean you are worth more and deservant of better treatment than someone who hasn't?

While i don't disagree that military veterans should get some kind of compensation, prioritizing them for medical operations, housing, etc. is nonsense. However, the article is pretty vague on what the benefits are so i wouldn't look into this too much until something is agreed upon
