I can see Massachusettes and Connecticut...probably DC.
But Iowa?
I thought this was a very conservative state.
Any comments from anyone in Iowa?

Re: Iowa legalises same-sex marriage, and DC may do the same
IA is a typically more conservative state (not hardline liberal as, say, CT or MA). I believe right now, the people as a whole oppose gay marriage by a fairly sizable margin. One liberal blogger I read has a model predicting a vote today would ban it by 56-44.
This, I think, is an example of the type of thing that happens when more generally conservative people justify their vote for liberals. IA has had Democrat Governors for several years now, and they are the ones who appointed these judges. Mark my words, we are very quickly travelling down the road to the destruction of religious liberty. The homosexual agenda is not to simply be accepted. It is, as the opinion of the IA court wrote in this decision, to be affirmed. As a result, Bible believing Christians will be subjected to litigation to force them to choose between their beliefs and the law. It is already happening in many places now here in the US.
I see this, then, as symptomatic. We are giving away our own religious liberty by justifying voting for the Left. The disease is with us, not them. They make their agenda very plain, and like the pre-WWII generation thought of the Nazis, we say, "Oh, they don't REALLY mean that!" and justify voting for them. Liberals have a very "feel good" agenda.
Bottom line: this is our (Christians) fault. We have fallen into the same trap as America did in the 60's--if it feels good, do it, regardless of the morality promoted or the consequences that come with it.

And that, brothers and sisters, is the kind of foolishness you get people who insist on denying biblical theism. A good illustration of any as the length people will go to avoid acknowledging basic truths.Proinsias wrote:I don't think you are hearing me. Preference for ice cream is a moral issue

Obama has invited gay couples to the Easter hunt....definite affirmation there

I just said that because there are tons of gays around where I live. Like San Fran and Newport. I have nothing against gays, just stating the obvious I suppose.Harry12345 wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawsuits_t ... position_8

America has become too pragmatic.
It started in the '60's, progressed heavily into the '70's when we embraced sex without love.

But this is what we call democracy. In my opinion it has not mutch to do with the right or left position. When in power, like you said, They make their agenda very plain, and the agenda is the same. Being outside of United States I am realizing that the Obama reign is a simple continuity of the previus reigns (kingdom) agendas.

I would add:rodyshusband wrote:

...when we embraced more and more violence in movies just by saying they are just movies (the image of the beast?).
...when we embraced more and more permissive pornography (the image of the beast?).
But I am sure I would be able to add a lot more of things we accepted under The Human Rights.
Just an opinion.

New York state is on the brink of legalizing same sex marriage. The state governor here...with a 24% approval rating from liberals as well as conservatives... is desperate to show some form of "leadership".

The DoMA was passed in 1996... Lol, 13 years and barely any states defy the DoMA and legalise same sex marriage... and in the space of about two months, like 5 states legalise same-sex marriage out of nowhere! Kinda like waiting for a bus for 5 hours only to have 5 come at the end of it all.
