Evidence for God from Science

Declaration of Independence: Makes certain assertions that need to be scripturally qualified:

When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

Discuss these assertions from a Biblical Perspective.

Why do they need to be discussed from a biblical perspective?

A major argument the FF had (with which I agree) is that some moral truths are SELF-EVIDENT. You don't need Scripture to back them up. They are, rather, a part of the fabric of reality iteslf for the simple reason that God has so-constituted the world.

Look, again, at the three assertions:

1. If you are going to rebel against your government and start a new one, you'd better have a good reason and had better be able to tell the rest of the world what it is.

I'd agree that is self-evident.

2. All men are created equal by God.

Definitely self-evident.

3. Government comes from the people, and when it begins to supress its own, it should be abolished.

Again, pretty self-evident.

I'm not saying we don't need to have a biblical perspective per se, but I'm saying that with or without biblical verses, the DoI stands as a testimony to truth. My personal anyway . . .

Because if they conflict with scripture that makes them unscriptural.

Getting a group of guys together and saying that whatever you deem truth is self-evident simply isn't good enough.
