What happened?

(Note: sometimes religious people do unwise things such as preaching to people that don't want to hear and then claim that they are persecuted for the gospel, in fact they suffer for their faults.)

The greatest pains I've experienced for my faith have come not from outside, but from within the body. Often times they have come from my own expectations.

I'm not sure if this counts as persecution, but I've definitely been mocked. Once at a church camp, we held a worship service on the beach by a theme park. Some girls in the sky tram that flew overhead were waving their arms in mockery and laughing at us. It came across as very hateful and spiteful, and made that worship service seem like a bold embrace of our faith in the midst of opposition.
