Do the members of the Trinity have different roles?

I am very, very confused about the concept of the trinity. I have many questions, but the most important is whether or not the members of the Holy Trinity have different roles?
God bless,

In relation to us they probably do. The Holy Spirit to us is the one that convicts us and gives us power and leads people to Christ and guides and inspire the Church. Jesus is the intermediate person before God that interceeds on our behalf. He is the reason we are all saved and are able to be reconciled with the Father. The Father is for me the tricky one. His role encompasses everything I guess.
That probably didn't help - but it is my two pennies worth.
God Bless

Yes they have different roles as born out in the Gospels. How they relate to each other also differs.

Woah...
That is incredible, B.W. That is going to take a while to read but what I did read was really great. Keep this up...
Though I am still a tad confused since God has different roles, and yet at the same time He seemingly doe'snt. Jesus intercedes to the Father for us regarding our sins (Romans 8:34), and the Spirit does likewise for our prayers (Romans 8:26). Also, Christ said that the pure in heart are blessed because they will see God, even though He is God incarnate, and God's fullness dwells in Him (granted His divinity was concealed at that time prior to His resurrection). He could have been speaking of the Father, or His fullness of glory when our bodies are resurrected and we are made righteous before Him.
Lastly, I know that He is One God in Three Persons, and that each Person is distinct but not seperate. People often use illustrations like three-leaf clovers or the three forms of H2O (water, ice, & steam) in an attempt to explain it... but His Nature cannot be encapsulated in these illustrations, because in Isaiah 9:6, Christ is also called 'Father'... which to me blurs the line in distictiveness.

Yes, they have different roles. One of the best books I have read about their roles is: "Father, Son, & Holy Spirit, Relationships, Roles, & Relevance" by Bruce A. Ware.
