Yeah. It wasn't that long ago that I came across certain blacks saying that it was OK for them to hate whites and that that wasn't racist, since to hate people in power was OK. Something like that. I should go find some quotes, since I was thinking about writing about it anyway. I was really shocked. Talk about hateful. Hating all whites isn't racist? It's amazing how far some people will use excuses to validate their hate. I grew up in an area of Michigan that was a suburb of Detroit, apparently one of the nicer ones. But, I lived in a tiny old house, on a dirt road, and we were quite poor; there were even rats in the house sometimes! So one day, quite a long time ago, this black guy starts talking with me on the bus (in Long Beach, CA). He was doing some voter registration thing. I ended up telling him where I was from for some reason, and he knew about it, and he said, "Oh, you had a pet horse." He obviously did not have a positive attitude about me and where I was from. And I replied, "No, we were poor. I had no horse, and not much of anything else." And he refused to believe me. I get really tired of people excusing minorities when they have racist thoughts. They are humans, and if they're adults, they have just as much responsibility to think and consider circumstances just as much as anyone else. We're all human. Just because someone was born white, doesn't mean they were born wealthy or privileged or racist. Anyway, it's also patronizing to think that it's OK for minorities (or whoever) to be racist and such; it's as good as saying that they can't think as well as we do or are less developed morally or something. And not to get me wrong - the two strangers that have helped me at really important times in my life have been blacks. Those two guys were angels!
Oh, and I had just finished my Relativism book yesterday, and it talked of much of this. It's certain people telling us not to push their beliefs on them, but they are pushing theirs on us. I'm quite sure you realize that already. We need to just point that out to them.

What I hate is that America has allowed president obama act in ways anyone else would be hounded and called a traitor. He's a crooked, crooked liar and should be removed. But because of his race (or closeness to that race) no one wants to rock the boat. His wife is allowed to spend hundreds of thousands of tax payers dollars on a visit to Spain, albeit to console a friend at their loss, but should she be allowed to jump on Air Force "2", if you will, and cause the spending of all this money just to console a friend? Does she not understand that if she travels, there are many that MUST travel with her and thus if it's not official business, stay at home and send a card! It would've been cheaper for her to send for the friend for a private visit in the White House. But she can, and does. With no guilt, I'm sure.
Enough, before I get too heated.

Geesh, I don't keep up with the news enough! I didn't know that. Definitely, she should've flown herself (if allowed), or skipped it, or did a web-cam thing explaining to her friend why she couldn't spend so much of the country's money . . .

As it should be, she can't fly without a hoard of Secret Service...however she's not oblivious to this and the cost(s) (unless she's an idiot, but I only propose that as her husbands torch). Apparently the SS needed to book a good portion of the hotel for them too and for security purposes, and it wasn't a Best Western or something like that. It was one of the most posh spots in Spain.

Obama is definitely getting some slack:
If George W. Bush had doubled the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had criticized a state law that he admitted he never even read would you think that he is just an ignorant hot head?
If George W. Bush joined the country of Mexico and sued a state in the United States to force that state to continue to allow illegal immigration, would you question his patriotism and wonder whose side he was on?
If George W. Bush had put 87000 workers out of work by arbitrarily placing a moratorium on offshore oil drilling on companies that have one of the best safety records of any industry because one company had an accident would you have agreed?
If George W. Bush had used a forged document as the basis of the moratorium that would render 87000 American workers unemployed would you support him?
If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a TelePrompTer installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?
If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?
If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the nonexistent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?
If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had stated that there were 57 states in the United States, would you have said that he is clueless.
If George W. Bush would have flown all the way to Denmark to make a five minute speech about how the Olympics would benefit him walking out his front door in Texas, would you have thought he was a self important, conceited, egotistical jerk?
If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?
If George W. Bush had misspelled the word "advice" would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoes as proof of what a dunce he is?
If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?
If George W. Bush's administration had Ok'd Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11?
If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans, would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?
If George W. Bush had created the position of 32 Czars who report directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate on much of what is happening in America, would you have approved.
If George W. Bush had ordered t he firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?

?? Is this referring to a that huge bail-out? If so, maybe our country should not have bailed them out if they insisted on keeping the people in who caused the big mess in the first place (besides, CEO get the big bucks because they are held the most responsible - it's part of the job). A lot of people did not approve of that bail out. But maybe it is not referring to that.

My thoughts are as follows, we no longer live in the America of old, instead we live in a state the is between communism and what it used to be. Kind of like a caterpillar in a cocoon, only a beautiful butterfly will not emerge. More like something along the lines of parasitic wasp. I would like to know what parts you disagree on though, as it all seems true to me, and I agree with it wholly. To be honest with you I think that we the people are to blame for not stepping in and smacking the government back down where it belongs. "When the people fear the government that is tyranny, when the government fears the people that is liberty" (5 points to whoever knows where I got that quote from). America is getting weaker in many ways, and we are certainly falling away from God. The most disturbing in my mind is the fact that you can have porn on the internet and tv, and yet it is deemed offensive to have a nativity scene in a public park. It reminds me of a case a few years ago where someone sued a school (I think it was in NY
but my head hurts right now so I am having trouble thinking...) any way, they sued the school for putting up a nativity scene... but they had also put up a thing for Ramadan and for Han... Han... uh.... hold on... Hanukkah yeah that is how it is spelled, the festival of lights! Anyway the lawsuit was to take down the Nativity Scene, because it was offensive.... yet the other two could stay. (you will have to let me look that case up again, I did a report about it in school...). Okay sorry for the random and strange post.... but as I said above it is very disturbing the path America is taking, one away from God.
Edit: Okay so I found the case, and it wasn't with one school, sorry for the mix up. It was the Skoros vs. City of New York case, I don't have a link as I am not trying to take over your thread, lol but thought that I would post that as relevant to what you were talking about.

I'm moving out of this God-forsaken excuse for a country to a wasteland if I ever get the chance. It doesn't follow any of its own laws, treats its citizens like animals, and the law that is actually enforced has no function but to degrade the quality of life. I'd rather have to live off the land, risk getting Polio, Tetanus and Rabies whilst fighting off Coyotes just to know I'm secure in what I do, no matter how little.
Now, I always hear the first and second amendment are being violated- they aren't for the most part through some odd miracle. You know what's really being disregarded as nonsense? The fourth amendment. If you want to know how bad it is, down here in Georgia there was a law to be passed requiring all citizens with health insurance to be implanted with Radio Identification Tags(R.F.I.D. chips), which are typically placed somewhere in the forearm or shin, if hospitalised and if the hospital wanted to. In the real world, (meaning the place that isn't the "FREEDOM IS THE RIGHT OF ALL SENTIENT BEINGS" fantasy world that paints one agenda as entirely good, and the other as entirely bad, as seen on TV) politicians were going nuts all over it. Anyone with morals, Republican, Democrat, or Whatever wanted to block this- sadly, that number was very few. Eventually, in order to block it from being passed, they amended, if I'm not mistaken, a part of the state constitution. It was that bad, and it was almost snuck in.
Now I say "snuck in", because you would think something that violates a huge part of the federal constitution would get broadcasted all over the place. But no; only one local channel reported it, and twice. Earlier in the week they made a broadcast that was in vein of "oh hi, the government is going to let hospitals put thumb-drives in your legs to keep record of everything you do if they want", and at the end said the state constitution had to be amended to block the bill. Things like this should not be "oh, by the way", they are a serious violation of someone's security of person. This didn't even get out of the state, I don't reckon, and that's ludicrous.
And about people doing experiments on animals rather than human foetuses- better them than us. Human life is far more valuable than that of a hairless rat that hates everyone, and still would if it were always in the wild. What's next? Will the market for meat switch from animals to Humans? Will society turn to cannibalism in some horrific twist trying to justify the murder of innocents? I concur with this statement in the aforementioned news article, and personally, can see people going down this path. I've never had the heart to kill an animal, and the closest I've come is killing a bug. But at times I've been attacked by humans(I lived and grew up in a VERY bad part of town), I could have very easily killed them, but fought around that. Taking a human life is a big deal, and to take a human life, rather than an animal one if given the chance, is heinous. You don't take an unborn child and go "science is good", and try to justify murder that way.
And then you have abortion. I'm not a woman, so I'm probably not at liberty to have an opinion on this, but once a child's heart starts beating, and the brain becomes functional, that child is alive. It begins to move, grow, show signs of intelligence, and so-forth. Now, I can understand "aborting" an unborn baby if it will kill the mother, but if it won't... isn't that murdering? I mean, I guess if the foetus isn't alive yet, it's alright, but once it's alive, it's alive. If you kill something that poses no threat to your well being, that's murder, regardless where it is.
This sort of common attitude, coupled with the climbing population makes me worry. It's like human life is worth nothing now. And then the most common concept of all of society contributing a "whole" would like to assert that humans are worth "sacrificing" for the "Greater Good". Let me break this down: in a country, or even worse, world where the common belief is that it's wrong to harm nature, and wrong to harm wildlife, but not wrong to harm humans, where will people get their morals and sustenance? Precisely. Other humans. Sounds far fetched, but from what I've seen, humans can become very... addicted to taking other lives if not properly disciplined. Ever heard about the civil wars that went on in Liberia? Did you know the rebels, and many of the government officials became cannibals for the duration, and struggled with eating other types of meat and food, as they were addicted? And yes, it's relevant to America; study history.
But I'm going off on a tangent, excuse me.
About Mexico... I have no trouble with Mexicans so long as they come over here legally. In fact, one of my best friends was Mexican. It's the part where most of the immigrants are illegal, and most of the illegals are here to do things that are otherwise illegal, and those things what are illegal are illegal for good reasons for once. In other words, most of the people coming over here illegally are here to sell wholesale drugs(by "drugs" I mean "what people took in the sixties"), or worse, people(as slaves...but worse). Drugs aren't nearly as bad as human trafficking, even more so when you consider what happens to them. This is why the immigration laws need to be enforced; there's a lot more on the line than stopping a few illegal mariachi bands from playing at night clubs, and hippies getting high while listening to The Beatles. Not everyone is illegally immigrating by their own will, and for the sake of those people at the very least, illegal immigration should be taken more seriously. Mind you I haven't thought deeply about this, but it's my opinion and observations.
As for my response to the headline? I think America has died, frankly. It's been going downhill since the day it began, even then, though, it was a place worth living in until the past few years. Now it's just as messed up as any other first-world country, and I worry this may be intentional. But really; look at America, and then any other country that can be called "first world", and try to find a notable difference that's relevant to the present and does not regard location nor official language(s). The resemblance is uncanny.
And also, Obama isn't a black guy; he's a white man with dark-ish skin. If he is a black guy, he sure has me fooled, because he sounds and acts nothing like any of the black people I know personally. He's just as bad, if not worse than our other 42 white presidents. So even if it's only racist to speak badly about black people, you have nothing to worry about criticising Obama.

I'll probably be a wet blanket or an easy target on this conversation. It contains many elements of what appear to me to be groupthink.
I'm not an Obama supporter. I'm not an Obama detractor either. I think he's a man who's doing a difficult job with a difficult hand that he's been dealt. I've lived in the US since the presidency of Jimmy Carter. If there's one thing I've learned while here, it that regardless of who is president, they will be subjected to blame and rhetoric from the other party that will set-up false analogies and at the end that president will be something just short of the anti-christ, especially if it's a democrat and in the cross-hairs from the religious right, and I can say than from experience because I was a part of that religious right, an outspoken critic of every democrat through the Clintons and into the second Bush administration.
For the record, I didn't vote for Obama and I still have difficulties with certain elements of democrat leadership. I no longer engage in the elements of group-think that I think are still at work coming from the religious right.
I don't have time now, but I'll return later today if I can and go through the elements of that article one by one and show more in detail what I'm thinking about.
thanks,
bart

I'd like to believe that we as Americans could free ourselves, but every way you look at it it isn't going to happen while Liberalists and O'Bama are in power. Jesus will take the lampstand from our nation if we continue to let these communists marxists satanists racists, the ones that all follow the politicly correct path except if your a christian. Tollerance is a word that has been obliterated by its new usage, morality and truth are also being destroyed. To be religious is to be looked down upon and to be christian is to be an idiot, while evolution and gay marriage is what gets learned is school. I want you to read something:
Creed
We believe in Marxfreudanddarwin.
We believe everything is OK
as long as you don't hurt anyone,
to the best of your definition of hurt,
and to the best of your knowledge.
We believe in sex before during
and after marriage.
We believe in the therapy of sin.
We believe that adultery is fun.
We believe that sodomy's OK
We believe that taboos are taboo.
We believe that everything's getting better
despite evidence to the contrary.
The evidence must be investigated.
You can prove anything with evidence.
We believe there's something in horoscopes,
UFO's and bent spoons;
Jesus was a good man just like Buddha
Mohammed and ourselves.
He was a good moral teacher although we think
his good morals were bad.
We believe that all religions are basically the same,
at least the one that we read was.
They all believe in love and goodness.
They only differ on matters of
creation sin heaven hell God and salvation.
We believe that after death comes The Nothing
because when you ask the dead what happens
they say Nothing.
If death is not the end, if the dead have lied,
then it's compulsory heaven for all
excepting perhaps Hitler, Stalin and Genghis Khan.
We believe in Masters and Johnson.
What's selected is average.
What's average is normal.
What's normal is good.
We believe in total disarmament.
We believe there are direct links between
warfare and bloodshed.
Americans should beat their guns into tractors
and the Russians would be sure to follow.
We believe that man is essentially good.
It's only his behaviour that lets him down.
This is the fault of society.
Society is the fault of conditions.
Conditions are the fault of society.
We believe that each man must find the truth
that is right for him.
Reality will adapt accordingly.
The universe will readjust. History will alter.
We believe that there is no absolute truth
excepting the truth that there is no absolute truth.
We believe in the rejection of creeds.

I would encourage every person to go buy the movie "Agenda" online and watch it and see just how America is MURDERING herself thanks to the people that get put into power. Oh btw I would also really pray for New York, the Leaders in the White House and O'Bama because America will destroy itself if that Mosque gets built on ground Zero.
