Bizarre philosophical question

I just thought of something; what if TreeHuggers(people that like trees as though trees actually autonomous/intelligent), suddenly lost all autonomy and intelligence turned into something akin to trees; unable to think or move. On the flipside, trees become intelligent beings akin to Human Beings, and can walk/move/think,etc.

Would it be proper, since it would no longer be proper to harvest(now sapient) trees for resources,(the hippies sacrificed themselves for the trees or something) to instead harvest/grow, etc. treehuggers for resources? I mean, they really wouldn't have a say in it anymore, since they wouldn't be sentient.

In addition, how would the now sapient triffid-like trees...well, live, seeing as how most of the world's vegetation is now walking amongst us, and in larger numbers than human beings? Would they resort to cannibalism or something?

Thoughts?

Wait, I got it. It'd be just like Day of the Triffids, except worse.

"HUMANSTOCK FESTIVAL

THREE DAYS OF DEVOURING MAN KIND AND MUSIC"

OH THE HORROR
Could a moderator please move this to Humor and Jokes, by the way? I seem to have put this topic in the wrong forum.

The trees would probably continue to gain energy from photosynthesis. Just because they would be autonomous does not mean they would behave like humans.
