Bread of the first fruits: Kings 4: 42-44

2 Kings 4: 42-44. Now a man came from Baal-shalishah, and brought the man of God bread of the first fruits, twenty loaves of barley and fresh ears of grain in his sack. And he said, “Give them to the people that they may eat.” 43 And his attendant said, “What, shall I set this before a hundred men?” But he said, “Give them to the people that they may eat, for thus says the LORD, ‘They shall eat and have some left over.’” 44 So he set it before them, and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the LORD.
A man from Baal-shalishah (meaning-The God that presides over thee) brought the man of God bread of the first fruits, twenty loaves of barley and fresh ears in a sack, enough to feed 100 men with some left over.
Important here is the name Baal-shalishah meaning; The God that presides over thee.
From The God that presides over thee he brought bread of the first fruits. This is not the bread that spoils! It is the bread (Mana from God in Heaven.) Spiritual food.
The miracle of Jesus feeding the multitude is no different. Albeit a little less bread and a couple more fish’s (prayer). Spiritual food from God, and prayer of thanks to God. And there were twelve baskets left over to feed the rest of the world. Could this be a basket each for the disciples? Twelve is an interesting number as there are twelve tribes of Israel. Perhaps this means that the spiritual bread of which Jesus fed the multitude is the bread of Governance over the world!
Assuming the Judaic meaning of the number 12 is divine Governance?
