I had a very interesting lesson today how Jesus is connected to the state of Israel. There are actually more connections than people may think. First off when Abraham and his wife Sarah had their son Isaac they were very old. So old that Sarah laughed when she heard that she would conceive a son. They had to wait many years before she gave birth much like Israel had to wait nearly 2 thousand years for it to be re-born again too.
Now here are the Jesus and Israeli connections.
1. Both Jesus and Israel are called the son of God. Exodus 4:22
2. Both births were miracles.
3. Both went to Egypt. Hosea 11:1
4. Both were despised and rejected. Isaiah 53:3
5. Both were put to death by Romans.
6. Both were raised on the third day. Hosea 6:2
7. Neither will ever die again.

Wow... Just found some more parallels between Christ and Israel..
8. Both Israel and Christ were tempted or wandered for a time period of 40 days or years.
9. Both went through water baptisms connected with the Jordan river or channel.
10. Both gave or were given instructions on a mountain, Mount Sinai and Mount of Beatitudes.
Watch this!! The list is growing!
