"Guardian" Angels

Does Matthew 18:10 hint at children having guardian angels?

"See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven.

In the OT angels were identified as being "allocated" to certain individuals or nations but I think that in the NT, this is the only time it is mentioned.

Thoughts?

Yes, I would definitely say that's a very strong "hint" :D From a rational point of view, I would wonder why God would not allocate angels to protect little children but would to adults. I am of the firm belief that angels condescend to protect us & to be messengers of the will of God. The idea of personal guardian angels seems very logical to me from a balance perspective. If we are assailed, constantly, by temptations from the devil, would not a just and loving God provide us with as much protection as He can from our very inception? It seems like a very great gift. We have free will, but even so, God wishes us to have someone always whispering His will to us so that we may realize it's goodness.

Each angel possesses a will. Jude 1:6 speaks of certain angels having deserted their dwelling place (aka Heaven) and that requires free will. Thus, we can contend that any guardian angels we have were not necessarily ordered to be with us by God, but chose us. I think that's a very sweet and gentle thing, coming from a loving being. And judging Psalm 34:7 and Psalm 91:11-12, that Jesus said "Take heed!" we can conclude that these angels are guardians. It is obvious that babies are alive within the womb (Luke 1:41) it is fair to conclude that each child is assigned a guardian angel at the moment of conception.

Indeed, it seems like a reasonable view.

If demons can tempt us perhaps angels can help lead us away

Yah right I remember oldies always say (and often seen on film) there are angel and devil in each individual. Angels help us make decision, to do what is right while on the other hand the devils do the opposite. They are called “guardian” because protecting each of us and secure to relay the message of God is their primary concern. Dreaming to be on e of the..lol :harp:
