Praying me thinks

Post by goldmoor »

hi guys i am new to the forum and i want to start off with a question and a dilema i have .as a christain i pray for a lot of things then i get to thinking is it really what i should be praying for what is it that god wants me to pray about at that exact moment so i end up stoping because i don't specifically what i need to pray for. i do know that the piont of prayer is having and futhering my personal relatioship with God,but i don't exact how to go about doing that. so i have start to pray to God asking him what sohuld i pray about.

my question to you all is this make sense to pray about praying or just a bunch of hoopla. HOOPLA !
for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but power and of love and of a sound mind 2timonthy1:7

he has given us power to overcome any obstacle, love to endured any and all hardship and a sound mind to solve any problem and have peace inside and out so truly what is it that we should fear

Fantastic to do that.

That is a good place to start, God will answer your prayers ( not always with a voice, you might be surprised of his methods).

Before I start praying I usually compile a list of things that I want to talk about e.g. people I know who are sick, people who are persecuting me, unbelievers that I know, and then lastly for things that i might be struggling with ( sin's, health, relationships etc..)
I usually start with the Lords prayer.

"Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our sins,
as we try to forgive those that sin against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil."

*edit* I also spend some time after this prayer just praising God and thanking him for all the things he has done and provided for me.
and then go onto my list, and lastly I like to talk about anything that may have popped into my head at the time.

Hope this helps

Dan
1Tim1:15-17
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.Amen.

One thing you can pray about is the peace of Jerusalem in Israel. Pray for one world government under G-d where He will soon begin ruling from Israel.

This will happen..
