I was just curious, I wasn't going to participate but just wanted to do some research in regards to them defending what they believe against what a Christian believes.

If you find one, please be careful. It always starts out as curiosity...next thing you know, you'll change your name to Muhammed Ali. 8-}2

And for the record, I respect the fact that you're wanting to find out what Muslims believe, by what they say they believe. Not by what a non Muslim says they believe.

Don't worry about me, I am a big boy and my Christian faith is rock solid. ;)
As yet I havn't found one that you can openly discuss what they believe, most have a list of rules 3 pages long, reeks of control.

Thank you.

I can respect their decision to do that. In the same way we need to discriminate here, they'd probably be overwhelmed with haters.

I agree but here we have open discussion, on the ones I have looked at if you question at all you get banned.

I bet if you keep searching, you'll find something. Why not go to that forum, and just be honest, and tell them that you want to learn more about their religion? Just ask questions, and listen to what they say. Don't be confrontational. Don't get defensive. Just learn.

I didn't really want to engage with them, I more wanted to read what other people have written as my knowlage about such things is not that great.

I will see what I find.

While you're at it, get yourself a study Koran and read it. The Meaning of the Holy Qur'an by 'Abdullah Yusuf Ali is excellent and has the English translation juxtaposed with the Arabic. The KJV English that Yusuf Ali uses is a little tiresome, so if that bothers you try The Koran by N.J. Dawood...it is in modern English.

I think you'll find that Muslims never read the Koran but they most certainly idolize the book itself.

See if your church has a copy?! I can't imagine why a church would have a copy...that would be a little like a church keeping porn on hand. You can borrow a copy from a library, buy one in a bookstore or get one free from Muslim associations.

There are plenty of people at my church who are literary scholars, I would think that they might have a copy I can borrow.
I didn't mean the actual church but they people who go there.
