Today I've been stopped by two young people

Today I've been stopped by two young people. They were from the Church of God. They showed me following verses: Genesis 1:26, Galatians 4:26, Revelation 21:9 and Revelation 22:17. They claimed that there is God-father and God-mother, not only one God. I do not remember more. I also got a web link: http://english.watv.org.

Any comments, thoughts?

I also sent an email to them and invited them to participate in this thread.

More than one God not only contradicts scripture, it is logically impossible.

Thoughts: I'll refrain from expressing my thoughts.

Scriptural interpretation without understanding of the context and genre of scriptural literature can take us to many types of interpretation.
Analogies can be very tricky and some people like to take an analogy to its furthest point.
This seems to be such a case, taking the analogy of Jerusalem as a "she" to an extreme degree.
In Revelation the "Bride" is an anology for the "church" of Christ ie: all believers that put their faith and trust in Christ.
Why bride?
It conveys the correct message of the relationship between the body of believers ( the "church") and Christ - a relationship of love, trust, faith and one that is "for life".

Hana, this is from the link you posted:
The reason why the gospel of the new covenant
spreads rapidly to all continents — North America,
South America, Asia, Africa, Oceania and
Europe — is because God the Mother,
who sacrifices everything for the salvation
of Her children, leads all with love.
Something is not quite right with that quote. I just can't put my finger on what it is... y:-?

As I said, I invited those two guys to participate in a friendly discussion here. If they reject my invitation or does not react to my email, I will make my mind up that they are not an open society and not open to thinking and exploring. As is written in the Bible: Examine everything carefully, hold fast to that which is good. This forum is the best I have found so far.
