When Lazarus was dead

When Lazarus was dead where was his soul?
Resting.
There are many views in regards to what happens to the soul upon death and many times those views "confuse" the soul with the spirit.
Scripture tells us that the SPIRIT returns to God, so Lazarus's spirit was with God.
Scripture tells us that man became a living soul upon the breathing of God and that the soul CAN die.
It doesn't really go into comprehensive detail of a step-by-step thing but there are variosu views in judaisim as well as Christianity of course.
