Who gave Moses the ten commandments - was it God the Father or God the Son ?
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." (Psalm 19:1)

lets set the stage and imagine the scenario - Jesus said "keep my commandments" and also "no other commandment give I unto you"[other than the ten I have already given you] - the scenario an old person with a big long[white]beard as the ancient of days climbing up Mt.Sinai in the heat and dust to rendezvou with Moses while His teenage son back home with His feet up watching the world on television - so then who do you think gave the ten commandments to Moses - was the I AM of the burning bush the I AM who was before Abraham - twincPaulSacramento wrote:You really can't have one without the other.
Twinc, if you're trying to make a point, it's probably best just to come out with it. There is only one "I AM". The eternal God of the bible, and creation. One God, in three persons.- was the I AM of the burning bush the I AM who was before Abraham - twinc
You can't separate the Word of God ( Christ) from God.twinc wrote:lets set the stage and imagine the scenario - Jesus said "keep my commandments" and also "no other commandment give I unto you"[other than the ten I have already given you] - the scenario an old person with a big long[white]beard as the ancient of days climbing up Mt.Sinai in the heat and dust to rendezvou with Moses while His teenage son back home with His feet up watching the world on television - so then who do you think gave the ten commandments to Moses - was the I AM of the burning bush the I AM who was before Abraham - twincPaulSacramento wrote:You really can't have one without the other.
btaim - I have always found that most Christians think God the Father of the OT and not Jesus of the NT gave the commandments to Moses and I am sure the Jews and Muslims think this - twincRickD wrote:Twinc, if you're trying to make a point, it's probably best just to come out with it. "He who has me has the Father and who has the Father has me...."
The God of Moses was God and when God spoke to Moses, He spoke through His Word, His Son, Our Lord.
I think maybe the confusion lies with the incarnation of Christ. Christ wasn't born of a virgin, when God gave Moses the 10 commandments. Some probably don't fully understand how the son is eternal, if He was born.twinc wrote:btaim - I have always found that most Christians think God the Father of the OT and not Jesus of the NT gave the commandments to Moses and I am sure the Jews and Muslims think this - twincRickD wrote:Twinc, if you're trying to make a point, it's probably best just to come out with it. Yep, some don't understand that the incarnation of the WORD of God was not the BIRTH of the WORD.RickD wrote:I think maybe the confusion lies with the incarnation of Christ.
