Doubts

Suppose one has serious doubts that God even exists but has serious doubts about his doubts and thus but tries to live as much as possible as if he assumes his doubts are false and indeed Chritianity's beliefs are valid can he be saved?

If you accept Christ on the proviso that He be real but you are not at all sure He is, what then?

No, you are not saved in such a condition.

Furstentum I have to disagree slightly with you on this. Remember when Jesus says if you have faith the size of a mustard seed and say to the mountain to move and it will move? What Ultimate is describing isnt a person that has lost all their faith. Again Faith isnt about your feelings, its about your trust and action, and obedience. Some of the biggest saints went through these trials and tribulations, and it is because of these trials that they became saints. Then again when a person goes through these doubts, if they keep putting their trust and Faith in the Lords promises, the Lord will eventually bring them through it.

It is not that Ultimate has only a little faith, Ultimate has no faith. He may have some bizarre form of self-conceived religion, but he has no saving faith. Click on his name and look through his posts and this will become evident. We are not talking about a saint - a saved person - going through a trial, only to come out with a faith stronger than before.

Sorry.

Your right, I didn't go through his posts, and if he has his own notion of what God is supposed to be like then that's a different story. The first step of faith is trusting what God said when he left us his word, which many martyrs died to preserve for us.
