Theology, sports, and fiction (books and movies) are three of the things I enjoy discussing the most (at least online). I'm not sure if there's any movie buffs here but I thought I'd try it. A few years back the American Film Institute did a top 10 list in 10 categories, so I'll steal their categories (and arguably some of their picks, I haven't seen too many romantic comedies so I went with their pick there). Fill in as many of the categories as you want and write as long an explanation as you like. If you don't want to put it in terms of "best" or "greatest", then just put your favorite. Add another category if you want, if you want me to justify my own picks I can do so. In short, respond however you want or not at all.
Animation- Toy Story
Fantasy- The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
Gangster- The Godfather
Science Fiction- Blade Runner
Western- The Searchers
Sport- Rocky
Mystery- Vertigo
Romantic Comedy- City Lights
Courtroom Drama- 12 Angry Men
Epic- Ben Hur
And to throw in an extra category-
Horror- Alien
I'd include action/war/historical as well (or just plain comedy instead of romcom), but that strikes me as too broad with too much genre crossover.

My own choices for some other possible categories.
Action- First Blood or T2 maybe? Although action is a hard category to do without wandering into my own favorites rather than what I consider to be the best (although they admittedly coincide quite a bit).
Adventure- Raiders of the Lost Ark
Musical- Fiddler on the Roof
Historical- Schindler's List
"Artsy"- Andrei Rublev
Psychological- The Decalogue
Some honorable mentions for a couple of my favorite genres-
Sci-fi- 2001: A Space Odyssey, Star Wars, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (that's my favorite), Alien
Western- High Noon, Shane, Unforgiven, Rio Bravo
