Legalistic as defined in the Dictionary:

1. Strict, literal adherence to the law or to a particular code, as of religion or morality.
2. A legal word, expression, or rule.

Hence back to the question:

Is it possible for someone to become legalistic about Grace?

Hmm... a person can be legalistic about grace if that person forces the law for grace to be given.

Now that is quite the oxymoron: legalistic grace. :pound:
It is possible, yes. But the grace given would not be grace at all - merely an excuse to threaten and force people into thinking about good works instead of accepting the real grace that comes from God.

No. Grace and the law are opposites. One either strives by his own works and/or adherence to the law for salvation. OR, one relies on the Grace of God for salvation.

So in other words, legalism is strict adherence to the law. And Grace is absolute freedom from legalism. IMHO of course.

By jingle give that man a gold star and ring that ol' brass bell! He got it!

Oxymoron is correct!
