What is the Best Tea?

In the States it is difficult to find a good strong black american tea brand.

So I look for imported tea. Now you all from other countries, what brand of Black Tea do you drink or recommend?

Right now, I use Yorkshire English Breakfast tea. Not sure why in the USA the tea is well - bland compared to the imported teas...

One would think if one drinks infested water from the back of a pickup truck, one wouldn't be too picky about the tea one drinks.

I recommend Tetley British Blend, or whatever else is on sale.

In fact Bryan, if you come on over, I'll make you a cup of British Blend.:D

If you like black tea, look for Twinings Irish Breakfast. In Canada, it is in a green box. If you can't get it in your backwards, unevolved country where gays can't marry and adopt children and Muslim polygamists can't live as they please, send me your address and I'll send you a box...FREE!

(And if you like it, I could be your tea pusher...)

PS...The above is for tea bags...if you use loose tea, look for Twinnings Gunpowder Black Tea. It sells in a black tin can - a cube - and costs about $8 in Canada...but is only available in specialty shops.

This is a backwards country when it comes to good tea...

Never mind, both of you. Twinings of London are purveyors of tea to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II...she doesn't drink the rotgut reserved for the proletariat.

Here you go B. W. Now you can drink tea, and pretend you're a queen like the much more evolved FL.

Be sure to sip it slowly with pinky finger extended.

Thank you, Mr RickD. Run along now...you must drink your Tetley before the hounds lap it up.

Lord BW,

Ah...The above member of the lower class has brought up an excellent website! Please note, Sir, that Lapsang Soochong is a most potent black tea. I recommend it! I sent you Irish Breakfast and Variety Pack.

Usually tetley - athough most brands are good. Some of the fair trade ones are good. Quickbrew is ok as well.

If you want you can PM me your address and one day I might send a bag over.

Silvertusk.

The Lapsang Soochong on this site is the teabag version of Twining's Gunpowder Black Tea in the tin. It is the most potent black tea available, even more so than Irish Breakfast.

To all you guys pushing Tetley: GET A LIFE!

Well...um...I sort-of agree with Jac. Lipton is a good base for iced tea. Tetley is an OK all-around tea...sort-of like the Budweiser of tea.

Anyway, tea - and coffee - are affordable luxuries! Not everyone can drive an Aston Martin but we all can drink really good tea & coffee. So, drink your Tetley everyday but treat yourself to Twinings once in a while.
