I think the REAL problem isn't that clowns are stupid or that there is a shortage of them - the real problem is that most of them aren't terribly original or funny. Plus a few mass killers gave them a bad image. People love KISS in makeup but they get freaked out by clowns? Guess KISS are more sci-fi, Kabuki- type characters?
