Calling all computer geeks

Ok,
My son has been using my Lenovo laptop. Now when we enter the password to log on, this message pops up:
"The User Profile Service service failed the logon.
User profile cannot be loaded."
Any ideas?
I tried restarting.

Can you log in using a different user, maybe as admin? It seems his profile is corrupted or you have a virus.

No, I only set up myself as a user.

If I have to call Lenovo Customer no service, I will. But I'd actually rather get a root canal. I was hoping one of you geeks could help me first. I run windows 7. Does that make a difference?

If you want anything done right, do it yourself.
I fixed it myself, no thanks to you geniuses.
I had a windows update on 5/6. I just had to restart my computer to before that date.
I guess I'm not as computer illiterate as I thought I was.

Esp, with old windows like XP and even older. Not secure any more.
