Many still use this verse to stop interracial marriage and a few others.

. God wills all races to be as He made them. Any violation of God's original purpose manifests insubordination to Him. (Acts 17:26, Rom. 9:19-24)

2. God made everything to reproduce "after his own kind" (Gen 1:11-12, 6:20, 7:14). Kind means type and color. He would have kept them all alike to begin with had he intended equality.

3. God originally determined the bounds of the habitations of nations, so they would be saved. (17:26, Gen.10:5,32, 11:8, Dt. 32:8)

4. Miscongenation means the mixture of the races, especially the black and white races, or those of outstanding type, or color. The Bible even goes farther than this. It is against different branches of the same stock intermarrying such as Jews marrying other descendants of Abraham ( Ezra 9-10, Neh. 9-13, Jer 50:37, Ezek 30:5)

5. Abraham forbade Eliezer to take a wife for Isaac of canaanites ( Gen. 24:1-4). God was so pleased with this that He directed whom to get ( Gen. 24:7, 12-67)

6. Isaac forbade Jacob to take a wife of the canaanites ( Gen. 27:46-28:7)

7. Abraham sent all his sons of the concubines, and even of his second wife, far away from Isaac so their descendants would not mix (Gen. 25:1-6)

8. Esau disobeying this law brought the final break between him and his father after lifelong companionship with him ( Gen 25:28, 26:34-35, 27:46, 28:8-9)

9. The two branches of Isaac remained segregated forever ( Gen 36, 46:8-26)

10. Ishmael and Isaac's descendants remained segregated forever ( Gen 25:12-23, 1 Chr 1:29)

11. Jacobs sons destroyed a whole city to maintain segregation (Gen 34)

12. God forbad intermarraige between Israel and all other nations ( Ex 34:12-16, Dt 7:3-6)

13. Joshua forbad the same thing on sentance of death ( Josh 23:12-13)

14. God cursed angels for leaving their own "first estate" and "their own habitation" to marry the daughters of men (Gen 6:1-4, 2 Pet 2:4, Jude 6,7)

15. Miscogenation caused Israel to be cursed ( Judges 3:6-7, Num 25:1-8). Note that Phinehas' act was righteous ( Ps 106:30)

16. This was solomon's sin ( 1 King 11)

17. This was the sin of Judahites returning from Babylon ( Ezra 9:1-10:2, 10-18, 44, Neh. 13:1-30)

18. God commanded Israel to be segregated ( Lev 20:24, Num 23:9, 1 King 8:53)

19. Israelites recognized as a seperate people in all ages because of God's choice and command ( Matt 10:6, John 1:11). Equal rights in the gospel gives no right to break this eternal law

20. Segregation between Israelites and all other nations to remain in all eternity ( Is 2:2-4,Ezek 37, 47:13-48, Zech 14:16-21, Matt 19:28, Lk 1:32-33, Rev 7:1-8, 14:1-5)

21. All nations will remain segregated from one another in their own parts of the earth forever ( Acts 17:26, Gen 10:5, 32, 11:8-9, Dt 32:8, Dan 7:13-14, Rev 11:15, 21:24)

22. Certain people in Israel were not even to worship with others ( Dt 23:1-3, Ezra 10:8, Neh 9:2, 10:28, 13:3)

23. Even in heaven certain groups will not be allowed to worship together ( Rev 7:7-17, 14:1-5, 15:2-5)

24. Segregaton in the O.T. was so strong that an ox and an *** could not be worked together ( Dt 22:10)

25. Miscogenation caused disunity among God's people ( Num 12)

26. Stock was forbidden to be bred with other kinds ( Lev 19:19)

27. Sowing mixed seed in the same field was unlawful ( Lev 19:19)

28. Different seeds were forbidden to be planted in the same vineyards ( Dt 22:9)

29. Wearing garments of mixed fabrics forbidden ( Dt 22:11, Lev 19:19)

30. Christians and certain other people of a like race are to be segregated based upon behavior ( Mt 18:15-17, 1 Cor 5:9-13, 6:15, 2 Cor 6:14-18, Eph 5:11, 2 Thess 3:6-16, 1 Tim 6:5, 2 Tim 3:5)

Um... the point of the law to not wear garments of mixed fabrics was symbolic of the need to worship the One True God, for one. For another, the rules against marrying certain groups of people was based on nationality and religious practices, not on race.

The rule on not mixing seed on the same field was for the same symbolic purpose as the aforementioned clothing law.

Also, it's heavily debated as to whether or not "sons of God" in the context of Genesis refers to angels or to the sons of Seth.

For Christians in particular, it's strongly advised to marry a fellow believer. Again, the restriction is religious, not racial, in nature.

See what happened with Solomon in his later years. What was it that brought Israel to be on its way to falling apart at that time? Was it that the women looked different, or was it that Solomon got so caught up in his lust that he inadvertently brought in and allowed for the practice of pagan religions in Israel, which led to the nation splitting in two?

Pay attention to the context.

Also, as for Israel being set apart as a nation separate from the others, well, for one, aren't all nations separate from the others? Secondly, what's the context? Religious. Israel was to be religiously set apart from other nations by worshipping the One True God. God made a covenant with the people of Israel and he keeps his promises, so that's something to keep in mind.

Because we live in a fallen world, mis-led at times by people who dare use the name of The Almighty to spread their vile, soul-destroying messages of hate and seek to exalt themselves above other's in the pursuit of power and superiority.

The second link didn't work for me, but the first one did and it made me very angry. I am tired, appalled, disappointed and quite frankly pissed off. Not solely because of a link but because of this distortion I see of Gods word and message at every turn. Jesus came to this earth, and he was humiliated, tortured, falsely accused and hung up to die, he suffered through this in his perfectness and righteousness for us. He died so that we might live. He bore the burden of our wickedness and our earthly ungodliness and sin. What a sacrifice. How blessed are we to have a Saviour and Messiah who thought despite how depraved and unworthy we really are loved us so much that he paid our price.
But yet "Christians" and churches have the audacity to preach outside Jesus' message of love, kindness and patience to disrespect, dis-honour, dis-credit and pervert his sacrifice and his teachings. It is the highest insult to turn his love into hate, to turn righteousness into greed. Greed does not have to be in the sense of money and goods it can also mean a greed of the self, a greed of the ego and a greed of the spirit. Too many Christians in this sense are greedy.
The moment you exalt yourself above another you have faltered, the minute you position yourself on a higher rung spiritually than another you just slid yourself down five.
We are all equal in the eye's of God, there are no exceptions.
When jesus said love your brother, love your neighbour he didn't mean your white neighbour, or the "good" brother or the intelligent neighbour or the Christian or the righteous he meant everybody. He died on that cross for all of us, he made no distinctions and neither should we.
We are no better than anybody because we are "Christian" by Gods grace we are saved but not better.
Our Father does not love us more, he loves the sick just as much as the healthy.
The thief, the adulterer, the homosexual, the drunken bum on the street, the prostitute, the druggie, all of the lost are our equal. Yes we can look to them in love and guidance and help but too many "Christians do this whilst indulging their greedy spirit, they exalt themselves above them.
We exalt ourselves above each other, sometimes it seems searching and taking delight in finding another Christians fault. Because when we do it somehow pleases our greedy spirits. We want to know scripture a little better than the next, we want to know theology more soundly than another, we want to pick apart another's stance to forward our own, if that means insulting someone, questioning their intelligence, questioning their faith so be it, we are not doing so to please God but to please ourselves.
Where is the humility?
Where is the love?
Racism, hate, hostility, bigotry, and any feelings of superiority are not beneficial to ourselves, others or our Heavenly Father.

There is one answer, every question a Christian has is already answered, and if it isn't it's not a question worth asking, his name is Jesus.
"I am the way, and the truth and the life"

Thanks Hana
Sorry for the rant!
I don't like racism, I think it's one of humanities biggest downfalls. What has been inflicted on others under its guise is despicable and to think that for so long people have used the blessed Word of God to forward it is pretty disgusting.
Here in Australia backed by the "church" they walked straight into Aboriginal communities and took their children. I have had the priveledge of speaking personally to a few of the "stolen generation" and heard their stories, as a mum there is nothing more heart-wrenching than to imagine someone taking my children. They only did it to children who were "mixed" they thought they could "save" them, get the savagery out of them and eventually breed them out. And they did it with a bible in their hands, how can people get the message of Jesus so distorted? Sometimes I just don't understand.

As christians I think knowledge of the bible, having strong stances and acquiring wisdom is very beneficial and needed but what is needed more is humility and love. That is our greatest testament to Jesus, at the end if it all, clever words, theology, an intellectual approach to Christianity fills the mind but love fills the spirit and humility and understanding to others heals the hearts.

Because the issue isn't race by culturalism and since people need to point out the differences, they rely on the "race card".

Different cultures can enter into conflict quite easily and in a multi-cultural society, even more so.
