WORLD WAR 1
For some, like JW’s, it was the 'the time of the end'
For others, it was believed to be ~> The War to End All Wars
Still for some, It was the beginning of a new type of era, a new age of enlightment
Gone were the days of innocence for America..
For America ~> had stepped into a new world role..
One which we continue today on the world stage
Sad to think, that ~> that new role has been engulfed in war and world dominance to keep what some would term as “ours” ., while the whole world hungers for what we have discovered in Christ
Are we the new rich man versus Lazarus?
As an old ready to retire chief of mine put it bluntly ~> pretty much the same way as an old gone by the wayside US President once said.,
‘the world wants what we have, but we’re not going to give it to them!’
Why not?
Are we to use Christianity as a type of old Colonialism?
Have we become so blind and arrogant?
Why do we think of ourselves, so special?
Has a hundred years of wars not taught us anything?
Have we become the New Rome, and with such, we dictate to others what is and what is not?
History does indeed repeat itself., for we have learned nothing from it!
Here we are looking at news events, wars, political troubles, epidemics, immigration and whatnot., and all we can think of is
~> ‘our interests' …
How far we have drifted., just like old Israel., how far we've gone astray from the rightful path
Please forgive me., for it is just a passing thought that weighs heavy on me when I watch the news and, I ponder on our history as a young blessed nation
