Awareness of Salvation

Post by Storyteller »

I`m not sure how to phrase this so bear with me...

Are we aware of our salvation once saved? I mean when we die, do people here think we are aware w e have died? Do we really come face to face with God?

I think, for me, I believe that it`s our spirit, or maybe the Holy Spirit, returns to God and light.

I`m pondering whether, if we all originated from light (the big bang?) do we just then assimilate into this light? Ever stopped to look at a sunset and become part of it, just for a moment? Is that what it`s like? Do we find all the answers? Is that possible? If we do, do we then become God? How is that possible? Do we have some memory of this life? If not, then what? Do we just become part of the bigger picture? Is our concsiousness (not sure of the spelling) still intact?

I think we must move onto something bigger, better but what? I want to keep seeking truth, if I ever find it, then what is left?

Animals.... are they with us in Heaven? I think they will be, as can an animal sin?

I think when we go home to God, a whole lot of stuff becomes clear and we find answers but I think there has to be more going on. If it is just we get all the answers then what is left?

Not sure if all that makes sense!

Hi Annette
Never stop asking questions, that's how we all grow!
I believe that we do meet God face to face.
We reside in His love and perfection. Leaving our earthly bodies, and inhabiting the spiritual. Knowing who we are and who we were. Still us as such, but just much better, surrounded by light and love.

It is our spirit that returns to God, not in a sunrise or back to the universe. But to a creator and Father and Saviour, whom rejoices at our coming. We don't become God, we worship God. Fully understanding His spender and living in perfect harmony within His light and love.
We go home. Home to where the heart is.

See, that makes perfect sense to me :)

I will never stop asking questions, that`s who I am, I think it may be my special gift from God, all I have to do now is figure out how to use it!

I really do feel like a kid in a swweet shop :)

It must be very difficult to live in a country that, for the most part, considers theism a cultural thing of the past. I don't envy you. How do you deal with it?
Let us proclaim the mystery of our faith: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.

Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

If God explains to theoretical physicists how he made the world, then I guess they will move to experimental physics. ;)

I'm fairly new to this really so haven't come across much negativity but I just explain why I believe what I do and discuss it. To be fair, most people are prepared to listen. If not, then I respect their opinion. I think leading by example is the best way :)

Thanks Byblos :)

I just think you can't make someone change their views but you can encourage them to.
Showing them rather than teling them.

When I got saved I was changed,my whole perspective on things changed even though I was the same person,I was different,I also felt good all throughout my being, kinda like a high maybe and I wanted to tell everybody Jesus saved me and I did.I did not get saved in a church I got saved in the front parking lot in front of our old house in a car,she was my sunday school teachers wife who was bringing me back home from sunday school, she started telling me about Jesus and reading bible scriptures to me known as the roman road, plus a few other verse also and I listened and agreed with what she read, then she asked if I wanted to be saved,I said yes and she led me in a prayer and since then I was changed. I now know what Jesus meant when he said "And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free." I have never forgot that day which is why it is hard for me to believe people say they were a former Christian for 85% of my life, etc I say they were hypocrites who believed but never got saved.

Hebrews 12:2-3 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

2nd Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of this glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God,should shine unto them.

Yes, Abel, same here.

I hear it from all sides, from all Christians that they had that 'high' moment. I call it flooded by love. I wanted to dance but I was supressing it not to look crazy. I was enormously happy.

We are to remember it. The first moment.

And one friend once emailed me... If we know we trust Jesus we know we are saved.
