California's Drought

I would like to folks to know that in the rest of the country, there seems to be a black out or very little mentioned concerning the true severity of the current 2015 California Drought. I have to go to the internet and search for any news on it.
To get an idea, please see this map - most of CA is under a D4 drought

This is severe and as far as I can tell on the local Colorado news and national - very little is mentioned on this. Why is that?
Most of the food that used to come from CA is no more and most we get in Colorado is from Mexico or the environs south of there.
How you folks in CA holding up?
