Because its hard for them to believe it. It takes faith to believe.

It`s a difficult concept to get your head around that Jesus was God in the flesh I suppose.

Before I really found God and accepted Christ, I used to ponder on why Jesus was so important. I thought He was pretty special but why follow Him rather than other respected religious figures? Gandhi for example.
I`ve just realised something too, while typing this, the answer came from God.
It hit me, the whole point of it all was that Christ was God, in the flesh, telling us all.

Honestly?
Because people think the term God is a personal Name.
They think God they thing The Father.
God is not a name or a personal designation, it is a term used to describe the Creator of all that exists.

The Triune concept of God is a tough one to grasp because people think God= The Father rather than God as a "description" of attributes ( think the term Human).

Jesus being God simply means that Jesus has all the attributes and qualities of God.

Now, that can lead some to the view of Jesus being "A" god BUT that is because they come from a faulty understanding of the term God is used in the Christian context.
There can NOT be more than one "being" that is God because there can only be ONE God with ALL the attributes ( another being being God would have to have something or lack something from the other God to distinguish itself).

So how can Jesus be God and The Father Be God, and the HS be God?

Perfect union of essence and being while maintaining separate "personas".

It is hard to grasp because we tend to "see" God as a material being ( Old bearded man) and Jesus as a material being and we can only grasp them in a separate and material way.

The problem is that hey are not separate or material as we know it.

Isn't it wonderful that God came down to earth? We - such sinners. It could not be exposed more than via crucifying Christ.

Maybe some people cannot grasp God's coming and being among us.

It seems to me the passages in the Bible where Jesus refers to God in the third person and not the first. But you have the alpha/omega comment and the kingdom of heaven comes with within sentiment. I think Jesus was trying to espoused an idea that we are all part of God's higher conscousness eminating from within our soul. So we are all divine in the same way Jesus felt is divinity from within.

Also, logicially, my idea of God does not include God being bounded by the limtitations of human form. Certainly, an omnipotent God can take any form. But it seems to me in my estimation our full understanding of God's full being will also be beyond our comprehension.

Please forgive me for any sound or sense of any irreverence.

Like a person who won't literally get their hands dirty, a god that is too proud or vain to humble himself is limited, and therefore not God.

I think this thought is revelation. It is what it took, God getting His hands dirty in our physical existence and wanting to do it, in all humility.

Simply amazing ... His very existence is creation, willing to sacrifice even Himself for His creation's eternal continuation.

You humble me, sir ... in all humility. ;) , but that is exactly what it took, and I'd never heard it put that way before...simple, direct, concise... :amen:

Now get over yourself, in this game you're only as good as your next zinger ... :pound:
