The Power of Mankind

Look up into the night sky, what do you feel. A sense of being small? A sense of inferiority? Perhaps a sense of dread? When looking up at distant celestial objects, we often see the massive power or size that these objects possess. A star keeps its planets with a pull akin to a leash. A planet tugs on its moon with the same ferocity. Where are we in the picture? What influence do we have on the universe? Why are we so weak? Our power certainly doesn't lie within our strength, or size, or influence on celestial bodies. So what power do we have? Yes, these distant objects have immense power, but they lack something, self control. Ultimately, these objects break down into nothing more than just particles whizzing mindlessly through a vacuum. Ask yourself, what makes me human? On the most basic level we have intelligence and free-will. These two act in conjunction with each other to produce something so incredibly unprecedented within the universe, a being. Us, spiritual beings are the only thing in this universe that can determine its own fate, it's own course of history. A star simply follows the laws of physics, we CHOOSE how we act within them. So when I look up into the night sky, I feel overwhelming joy, because I know that I have immense power over my course of actions, and that implies a reality so much more beautiful.
