Age gap
Do you believe there is anything wrong with an age gap regarding love.
And if so where do you draw the line? Does being a christian make any difference to the issue?
For example.. would you bat an eye at a 60 year old marrying a 40 year old.. what if the older one is male or female.. does that make a difference?
What bout a 60 year old and a 30 year old?

Re: Age gap
Love is love. Where's that rainbow.
Sorry, had something else in my head.
I'm not fussed about age gaps.
I wouldn't want my daughter marrying someone ten years older then her is she'd like 20.
Those that do go through with such, it's fine. 20 year olds dating 14 years olds should be shot.
I've told my girl that any boyfriends I don't like we'll invite camping. I'll pack a shovel, an axe... "Why Daddy?"
At 30ish, seems a bit more acceptable going out with 40...

Don't homosexuals use that reasoning... just sayingKurieuo wrote:Love is love. Where's that rainbow.
So is that because age doesn't matter personally to you? E.G you still would of married your wife if she was 30 years older?

Re: Age gap
Are you thinking of being a cougar or dating someone 70 something years old?

I wouldn't mind feeling a bit younger but I might investigate other avenues first...Kurieuo wrote:Are you thinking of being a cougar or dating someone 70 something years old?

Re: Age gap
Age is just a number.
Before I got married, when I was in my early twenties I was with a guy for four years, he was in his mid forties.
I think it`s down to the individuals, their tastes, what they have in common, that kind of thing, not how many years they have been on the earth.

Did you find the age gap caused any problems or did you never really notice it?Storyteller wrote:Age is just a number.

Re: Age gap
It was never an issue, we enjoyed the same things, it just didnt work out.
At the time we were happy, wanted the same things.
One thing to bear in mind though, I think, is the subject of children. I didnt think I would ever want kids, I was wrong.

You were young. He was old. He must've had money. He lost his money, so the relationship didn't work out.

Re: Age gap
I think when one partner is old enough to be the other partners parent, then we are getting into "line drawing" territory.

Re: Age gap
Rick, that comment really, really deserves a slap. And I hope it was a flippant comment.
I loved him, and him me, we just realised that we both deserved and wanted something better.
And we are still friends.
And philip, he was old enough to be my father, and in a lot of ways he was a father figure but we both grew because of, and got something special out of the relationship.

It was said just to see how you would respond.
FYI, it was PaulS who made the comment, not Philip.ST wrote:
