Frank Turek asks atheists this following question:

"If you knew that Christianity was true, would you become a christian"

So for those of you who are atheists - what would your reply be?

Of course! If you knew theism was false, would'nt you become Atheist?

If Pascal's Wager became Pascal's Guarantee then I guess a lot to think about, since my other option would be to have my soul roasted in hellfire for all eternity. It would be an extremely resentful conversion if it happened. If god existed he'd have a lot of explaining to do.

This is an interesting read.

Unnecessary, if, acknowledging there is no theism, why would there even be atheism ? There is no light if everywhere, there is darkness. :shakehead:

Some years ago I would reply to you: yes.

My scenario was not about "no theism" it was about if you knew theism was false.

Here we go again...

Kenny,

You do realize if theism is false, that's the same as saying theism doesn't exist, don't you?

Sure, in a world where everyone behaved rationally. Here on Earth there are still people who think Elvis is alive and the moon landing was faked. Incontrovertible evidence that god doesn't exist and never has would definitely diminish Christianity, but it wouldn't kill it entirely. Thus there would still be theists, thus there would still be atheists...

The answer to the question is suppose to help reveal what issue the atheist has with christianity e.g moral or intellectual etc

Dawkins says that if he met God after he died and knew he was then true....he would say...

"Evidence, God! Where was the evidence?!"

I dont believe it is a mere matter of evidence for him.
He is disgusted and insulted at very thought of the Christian God.
His pride and trust in his own intellect won't even let him see beyond himself.

No! As long as there are people who believe God exists, there will be theist.
