Real friendship

I guess we can all be a bit like "pretty pictures" never showing whats really underneath but I believe God gave us friendship - even Jesus called us his friends - as a safe place where we can be our real selves. Though, it's a risk and not all of us are willing to take it.

Real friendship

pretty pictures on the wall
will never tell me
anything at all
eyes smiling back at me
will never show
whats underneath
And if I could pull you from the frame
I'd take you some place faraway
Where walls fall down
and words fall out
And you can finally
be yourself
Where trust is built
until there is no fear
we'll take our secrets
and hide them here
My heart will fly free
no longer bound
and friendship will flourish
upon fertile ground
Then when it's time
to leave this place
I'll put you back
inside your frame
pretty pictures on the wall
will never tell me
anything at all
eyes smiling back at me
will never show
whats underneath

Absolutely beautiful poem Nessa! Gorgeous! Did you write it? I really like it.

Sometimes I think I need to be a little more like that pretty picture. I tend to be too open sometimes, give myself too freely.
I couldn`t be, nor would want to be, any other way though.

Thanks story t.. was almost tempted to delete it..

It only took one and half glasses of wine to put it up lol

I wrote it, indeed. Though just scribbles really.. just trying to get across my feelings

it means alot you saying such nice things xx

And don't you dare be more like the 'pretty pictures"!! We need people like you to help us to be more real. More raw.

Don`t you DARE go deleting things like this!

Your feelings, and scribbles are part of you and it`s truly lovely to share them with you. I love reading other people`s scribbles, looking beneath that layer. I understand the fear, I often think Who would want to read my chunterings? But people do. So don`t stop writing, I love it and, selfishly, it inspires me to write more.

The imagery in your poem is simply stunning, the feeling behind it shines through. It a strong but vulnerable piece, it has a beauty and flair to it, it`s really, really good xx

y>:D<

And you are a sweetheart :)

I need a block of time to put some more stuff up. Hubby and daughter are going away for a week at the end of October so hopefully I`ll get more time then to post some scribbles. I have books of them!

I find such a release in writing. Just putting my thoughts down is cathartic. Trouble is once I start I find it hard to stop, or then I go through phases where I don`t write anything. I have a blog that I started, did quite a bit on it then kinda forgot about it. It`s always on my to do list though.

Maybe we should start a scribbles thread?

How did we get from a poem on real friendship to spanking each other? You must have different kinds of friendships than I do rick.. can't remember the last time i spanked a friend.. except for.. oh never mind..
