Re: Does God have faith in you?
Yeah.. I don't know about that..
What's the perspective you're going for?
If He has faith in us it's because He has faith in Himself first. But Elohim trusting man (solo)? Having faith in man? Isn't that just saying He has faith in His plans and the pieces that make it happen? He wouldn't have faith in something where there is no faith to be found..

Not on our own, no. When we are in Him, yes.
So it's relational, I would think. But He already knows what type of relationship we will have with Him. I'd say He has faith in those who He knows will have faith in Him. He's in control, how could he not? But apart from Him, faith doesn't exist. If we are thinking along the same lines..?
For the relationship. If we allow ourselves to be refined and admonished and molded by Him, He is the perfect clay worker. If we chose to be His eternally, He can eternally work with us, build us up and can have faith in us because of our choice. I think it's hand in hand with His grace. We conform to His Son, how could He not have faith? If we don't, there's no such thing as faith between Elohim and the individual. What do you think?

You know, a good boss acknowledges an employee's faithful service and recognizes it openly. Great parents demonstrate faith in their kids in various ways - so does God have faith in us?
I still find this a perplexing question...
Look at some of the folks out there in churches - youth culture honored and the rest after 45 and then after 50 best forget it, they are washed up no need to go to church you are done...
So does God have faith only in youth, PhD's, loudest biggest mouth preachers, erroneous expositors of doctrine, the most stupidest Christians who set forth bad examples of faith, etc because these folks are the most favored and blessed and most accepted... honored and respected. I don't get it?
Does God have faith in us?
See why I am perplexed?

I think it changes from individual to individual based on the relationship (guided by our yearning and desires) and the individual personality and what's makes up that person (and how they steer their development/personality which is relational with Him).So does God have faith only in youth, PhD's, loudest biggest mouth preachers, erroneous expositors of doctrine, the most stupidest Christians who set forth bad examples of faith, etc because these folks are the most favored and blessed and most accepted... honored and respected. His faith in a person will not be the same faith in another person, IMO. You can't have faith in something that is beyond them. We can see this relation with the Bema Seat. The funny thing is that I think slip by most, is that a lot is up to us to determine who and how we are toward Him (and by proxy Existence).
The only thing that matters and determines what type of faith He will have with you is, is you. The person. Nothing else. And He uses all that are His for good. So you could have a struggling Christian who hold erroneous doctrine, or the Christians who set for bad examples, and He has faith in them. But it's not the same as those who are interested in totally getting over themselves, dying to their flesh and giving all to Him. There would be naturally a different faith in the relationship between the one who wants to die completely to self, to the one who wants to still be in control.
That's how I see it. I re-read this and don't know if I'm making sense. I could try to expound.

Jesus didnt entrust himself to men because he knows exactly what we are like...hes really smart. If God has any faith in us, it's faith in our inability to screw up unless we have his Grace and His own ability to help us

Re: Does God have faith in you?
I guess I'd have to know what you mean by "faith".
The kind of faith/trust that we are required to have in Christ for salvation? I would say it's pretty obvious that God wouldn't have that kind of faith in us.

John 5:24

Re: Does God have faith in you?
I'm fairly certain B.W. is referring to faith beyond salvation. Faith in us personally. Anyways, I'll let him speak for himself so we can find out..
Then what's the point of this post?!?! There is none!!

Re: Does God have faith in you?
There used to be a radio announcer on a Christian station I listened to in New Zealand who, when someone rang up on his counselling type program and said they believed in God, would say, 'He believes in you.' I think he was just saying that God loves us, will not abandon us and knows we can do good things with his help - I don't see how else God could have faith in us really.

Re: Does God have faith in you?
B.W., an interesting question that, I think (?) may have no merit... for a couple of reasons I've thought...Does God have faith in you?
God is everything... He has no need for faith as by His omniscience, He is incapable of not knowing, which is a requirement for faith, an integral "apprehension rather than proof". He is proof, in His omniscience.
secondly, also by definition, faith can waiver. God in His wisdom and will cannot. The Creator would not need faith in His creation's existence, whose existence is all inclusive, is what it feels like to me this question comes down to.
Trust the past to God’s mercy, the present to God’s love, and the future to God’s providence. -St Augustine

The point is - does God have faith in you, or I?
Nessa did nail it with John 2:24...
Not sure if that makes sense to many reading this but it did to me, like a ton of bricks!
Also explains the rewards in heaven and John chapters 14 -15 themes too.
Before we get to that...
Does God have faith in you, or I, believers in himself?

Re: Does God have faith in you?
In John 2:24, Jesus was not trusting Himself to 'them'. As He knew all men, he knew 'them'. He was talking about the people in Jerusalem at Passover, and more all 'men'. We are new creations. We are brothers and sisters. I believe He has faith in His brothers and sisters. To not, to me, seems like a logical relational contradiction.
