Your Favorite Politicians

For all of the terrible politicians we all gripe about around here, what politicians, existing now, or in HISTORY, would you consider a pretty good one? Of course, every one of them has flaws - they are human, after all. But what are some that had good motivations and that were successful in policy and overseeing the government?
I'd say Lincoln has to be on that list, probably Washington - as he was presiding over a unique experiment in government, at a very dangerous time in history - it could have all gone bad rather quickly. Lincoln could have been vindictive, post Civil War, but tried to heal. Perhaps Truman. What others?

I'd say Obama. He wanted to give everyone in America, affordable healthcare. He wanted to bring blacks and whites closer. He wanted to give us hope and change. He wanted to fix climate change. He made a great deal with Iran. He made conservatives feel special by giving them special treatment from the IRS. He got the "war hero" Bergdahl back, and we only had to give back 5 terrorists. He's been the best president since Jimmy Carter.

I wasn't going to say Obama. He's better than you guys will ever give him credit for, especially considering that he was hamstrung by the most obstructionist Congress in the history of the nation, but I'm not ready to deify him a la Saint Ronald the Inaccurately Recollected.

This is like asking who my favorite serial killer is.
But if I *had* to pick one, probably Calvin Coolidge. He treated the office of presidency like a desk job, which is what it is, rather than a position to impart your will on the unwilling. As head executive, you are there to enforce the law, not needlessly involve yourself in the legislative process and even the judicial process as this current president and every other after Coolidge did.
Another person in a position of power who has this same kind of "hands off" approach to government is not actually a politician: Clarence Thomas. In his tenure as a Justice, he has only spoken up twice, and one was only to make a joke. The kind of leaders and figures Americans want are ones who shut up and try to move as little as possible, because we barely tolerate you having the authority to dictate any remote part of our lives.
Our country was founded on throwing out foreign tyrants who treated us as fiefs. And the way they treated us back then is nothing compared to today...a soft tyrant is still a tyrant: anyone who oversteps his role, abuses his power is my enemy and my country's enemy. And most importantly, my friends' enemy.
fake edit: I'm a fiery libertarian, as you can tell. My favorite political philosophers are from during or before the American Revolution, with John Adams and Patrick Henry being my favorites of all.
tl;dr my political philosophy can best be summed up by, "leave me alone"
real edit: I thought the title was "favorite pokemons" for a second lol
