What do Acts 17:22-31 and Romans 1:18-32 mean? Did Paul "fib" in either of them, as apparently some people say?

I don't see how. Both are true and don't contradict or anything. In Acts it is Luke writing about what he observed Paul do,so he probably traveled with Paul in order to write what he saw but Paul is dealing with men in Athens who serve a false god evidently and is trying to tell them about the true God who raised Jesus from the dead.In Romans Paul is just writing in general to the Romans but also us all too or anybody that would read it.

How about we narrow it down a bit? Acts 17:30 and Romans 1:18-20?

Acts 17:30 "Truly these times of ignorance God overlooked , but now commands all men everywhere to repent. vs 31 Because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained, He has given assurance of this by raising Him from the dead."
Romans 1: 18-20 " For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them."

Are the people ignorant as in Acts or is what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them?

The previous vs in Acts 17 "Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man's devising. (then) vs 30.
I should have included that previous vs.
God has given us proof of His existence in nature / the world we live in. We need to acknowledge Him / repent from whatever our former attitudes Have / Had been and get back in line with God's Word. Because He's warning all of us that sometime in the future He Will judge the world. It will be Righteous judgment.
Genesis 1:1 "in the beginning God...... created....."
