poem - Prayer to Father

Post by 1over137 »

Prayer to Father

Please have mercy
give us rest
draw us to home
to your nest

give us love
give us joy
all the bad in us
destroy

Make it happen
that on D-day
miracle comes
so I pray
But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
-- 1 Thessalonians 5:21

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
-- Philippians 1:6

wikipedia:
Normandy landings (codenamed Operation Neptune) were the landing operations on Tuesday, 6 June 1944 (termed D-Day)

maybe D-day really means important date also in English

D-day.

The Normandy landings, yes. You're right though Hana, we do say D-day for an important day. The date of Tomas's mri is a kind of D-day.

Great poem btw. Really, really moving y@};-

Yeah I know what D-day is, but I didn't think it is also used for an important day. Never heard of it. Seems weird to be in a prayer, but that is just me. ;)
