Does any one believe if we existed before we were born?

god said he knew us before we were in the womb, therefore maybe that means our soul or spirit did exisit before we were born.

Now we are getting somewhere. I was about to blow this website off due to the fact that no one was replying to my questions. And I'm starving to talk/respond to someone.

Now to the subject.Could it be the fact that this is the reason why we need to be BORN (AGAIN)?

Hi Poetic_Soul, it's kinda hard to respond to all the questions quickly. :)

I believe God knows you in the womb, and forms you from the instant of conception, so yes, we exist before we are born.

some believe that born of water is being born,
and spirit is after we die when we go to heaven, but thinking about it, could well be when god made us in his immage as a spirit.
Something to think over.

It's so funny how people believe in deja-vo or by chance, luck or even coincidence. The scripture clearly says that "I have called you, My sheep know my voice". The bible also talks about the predestination of the saints. By being "born again" does this mean that we were born into righteousness at one time ago. not a physical birth, as in born into this world/ into sin;...but born as in being put into existance before the physical birth (with a purpose). Then being born into sin/this world, hearing Gods voice as if to remember from our existance in heaven, to become (BORN AGAIN) into rightouesness through the blood of Christ.

I agree, Poetic Soul. Born again is making an accountable, active decision to accept Christ as your savior, and opening yourself to be immersed in the Holy Spirit, as opposed to come into existence. However, when we are physicallly born, we already have all that it takes to become spiritually born, and have to deny the old spirituality, and become reborn in a spiritual way, when we accept Christ.

August;...that's what I'm talking about. The key word REBORN. With re-born comes re-council, re-consile, re-store/re-storation, re-newed and re-deemed. At one point were we born, counciled, consiled(agreed with), stored, new and deemed with God OR was all this established right before the fall of man?

Scripture says that we were predestined before the foundation of the earth. This is the reason why I asked the question?

Maybe you need to elaborate a bit more then. Let me see if I understand your question. Are you asking whether a specific person being born-again was pre-destined?

If that is the question, then my answer would be that the ability to be born again was pre-determined, but not the choice, as God gives us free will.

I realize that I'm making it more complicated than it is. What I am trying to say is that every individual human being was already in place before their physical birth on earth. God placed each individual to be born. It is our choice to re-establish our relationship that we once had in heaven (before birth).

Like being in a coma for 15 years then re-connecting with your family that you don't remember.

I apologize for theis long and drawn out question but I get excited when it comes to other peoples ideas about God.

OK, so are we close to agreement? We have an eternal soul, that gets manifest in a physical body on earth, at which time we have to make a choice for or against God. I guess I have a problem with the reconnect part, I can't recall scripture that says that we know God before we are born, only that He knows us. If we are talking about eternity, in another dimension where time has no meaning, then it is possible for us to be like a "baby" soul there before being born, and our time on earth is the time when we have the opportunity to grow up and make the choice for God. If it is not along the lines of this at least in principle, our free will while on earth has little purpose?

I agree.....but it wasn't but agreeing or disagreeing. It was about what you think. Or shall I put it how we can relate with our thinking. I gotta hand it to ya;....you do have patience...lol

God requires us to have patience:)

Besides, I enjoy these discussions, it helps me grow in my relationship with Christ. It's also about what you think, since I can't have all the wisdom in the world....
