Should we feed the trolls?

For about a month I have been part of another chat/forum website and it's opened my eyes up to the world of trolls. I help mod one of the rooms and kicking (for our room) is seen as an absolute last resort.
I have modded along side another person who has spent years dealing with trolls. And they also at times seem frustrated when they feel they have 'fed the trolls'. And I agree, it can seem fruitless and ruin a good discussion by feeding them. But on the other hand I have seen truth told, tough love shown and alot of perseverence. We don't always see another's heart and true intentions. And although we may not always get anywhere with the troll, we don't know who else is reading. Who else might gain something from what is being said.
At my friend's work, the new employers brought in a phrase that they wanted the employees to take on board. 'Assume goodwill' Ironically the new employers, according to my friend, has ended up screwing the company over. And my friend now has a new job. But my friend actually believes despite their apparent evil, that they did a good thing bringing in the phrase. And it did alot of good.
I personally think we should feed trolls. But the question is what to feed them and how much.
Also I think we have to be very careful not to misjudge someone by past experiences with others.
There is a time to draw the line for sure but as I say, others are watching too. And even if the trolls do not wish to be fed truth from the conversation, other people might.

Serious thoughts? Me?
I don't think you'll like my answer. I pretty much agree wholeheartedly with what you wrote.

That's a relief. I've been trying to get in touch with my feminine side.

I never miss the opportunity to feed the troll or to troll back.

Our definition of troll is very loose and generous.
•See, if somebody comes here, almost every day for months, to act like a contrarian and disagree to disagree.
•If instead of building bridges at logical junctions, they slap away olive branches instead.
•If the crux of their arguments are continually a theme of "nuh uh", and 180 degrees the opposite of what you just said.
Then I believe "good byes" are in order, if there is a continual pattern of this sort of misbehavior. Because I find it hard to believe you can disagree with 100% of what we talk about here.

It doesn't matter if they are a troll or not because most of the time the information I give will help somebody, even if not the troll.

Nope! It's the Lord that gave it to me. Hide it under a bushel?

Nope. Probably better to throw it in the Gap.

It started years ago when the Lord was getting me ready for some work he led me to do.He got me alone and led me to study the bible and research many different things to better equip me for the work he had me do and the more I did it,I learned more and the things I was learning only reinforced my faith in God and his word, but I was learning so much that was interesting I've just kept on doing it through the years. And I can say it helped me to research things and focus on evidence to get to the truth of any topic or subject that I've researched. It is has increased my faith through the years as a Christian. And so I share the knowledge God gave me.
