Scientists turn urine into beer

That's nothing new. Miller Lite beer has tasted like urine as far back as I can remember.

ABSOLUTELY!!!

Most American beer tastes like horse whiz! Give me a nice, dark, malted, somewhat sweet/bitter craft beer or stout, ANY day! I remember, as a young kid, being absolutely disgusted with the taste of popular American beers (Bud, Miller, etc.). Eventually, I developed somewhat of a - well, familiarity - with such sewage. But after discovering quality beer, I realize my first impression of those "piss in a can" brews was absolutely spot on! As they ARE terrible! It's almost like why did Al Bundy scratch himself - (because THEY were there!) - and so it is with most beer, people just drink certain ones because that's all they know. And a really good, complex beer is to be savored, slowly, each sip a joy. Mindlessly pounding down well-marketed poison - well, how unthinkable!

Many years ago I did some waitressing -- while in college -- I was the only one old enough to serve alcoholic beverages -- in this case, beer. I didn't like the 'fragrance'. Groups of businessmen would come in and start drinking along with their meal -- I could observe their behavior gradually 'decay' as a result Of their drinking. So, no thanks. And I know lots of people who have beer with pizza at home or out and think nothing of it. Pepsi or better yet, ice tea or water works very well.

I just don't like bitter stuff so I've never acquired a taste for beer - similarly with the strong tastes of other alcoholic drinks. Call me childish but I'd rather have a sweet drink or water.

I never developed a taste for bear. More of a whiskey or red wine guy. If I do have a beer, then like Philip said, needs to be stout. The stouter the better. But by the time it's stout enough, my though, why not just get a whiskey and be done with it?

Me neither. I'm more of a venison guy. But I guess that's a mute point.

Mute is a common error that people use in place of moot. Like here
