Ok, just for the sake of argument I'm going to accept the (ridiculous) position that making a cake or some flower arrangements or providing a venue for a gay couple's wedding somehow makes the business owner a party to sin or whatever...

So where does it end? Gay people drive to gay weddings in cars fueled by gasoline and when they get there they eat food. So are auto and refinery workers and farmers also injured by the use of their products for the facilitation of same-sex unions? What about pilots? If a pilot knows that his passenger manifest includes a couple on their way to get gay married in Barbados does he have a right - nay, a responsibility - to refuse to fly the plane?

So just how many degrees of separation should there be between a person's job and a marriage ceremony that violates his or her religious beliefs? Where's the line between making a principled stand and being ridiculous?

This is one reason Trump won,the Democrats and especially Obama overreached forcing their liberalism down everyone's throats and the American people said No to liberalism. They have forced their liberal utopia dream down everyone's throats and the people don't like it.The dirty little secret the left doesn't want to admit is liberalism is in shambles now after this election. They have lost so much power and its going to continue too.The American people can't stand liberalism.
Hebrews 12:2-3 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

2nd Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of this glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God,should shine unto them.

Ed: Ok, just for the sake of argument I'm going to accept the (ridiculous) position that making a cake or some flower arrangements or providing a venue for a gay couple's wedding somehow makes the business owner a party to sin or whatever...
So, THAT'S your focus - that instead of people simply taking their business where they have many other selections, they want to financially wreck people due to following their spiritual consciences - people who you could obviously care less about that THEIR sensibilities are somehow less important than those of the ones wanting to hire a business. How about a Muslim baker refuses to bake a cake for a Jewish wedding? A conservative Muslim caterer refuses to cater a Bar Mitzvah party? A confederate states club want a black baker to put rebel flags on their party cake? A black antique restorer refuses to recondition a black stable boy statue? These are people for whom the request is an abomination. So instead of respecting their views, you rather people be wrecked financially, force them to hire lawyers, etc., because the simply refuse something that is against their conscience? ESPECIALLY when it is something that hasn't truly harmed someone - perhaps, at the most, slightly inconvenienced most people. That's the progressive liberal mindset - show tolerance about everything, except when people don't share your views - then they become exceptionally intolerant and hostile.

See, the point and agenda of such people isn't to punish those they sue as much as it is to establish that their sense of what should be allowed should be viewed as legally superior to what others do. As well, Ed, you should know that all manner of businesses refuse business requests for all manner of reasons unique to the requests of a client - even if merely out of inconvenience to the business, or whatever reason. But you don't typically see is people who could hire them trying to take them to court. The issue is THE AGENDA of such militant people. They want to force their morality down the throats of others who don't share theirs! How DARE they not think just like we do! Let's shoot the conscientious objectors!

I agree, Ed. You'd be surprised how truly ignorant most American voters are.

I don't understand the outrage. 2015 was basically the year the LGBT movement peaked and won. What is there to be oppressed by anymore?

I get that. But where there's smoke there's fire, and a fire needs fuel to burn. The left in this case has nothing to use for fuel. I mean, yeah, they are unnecessarily ginning up fear in the LGBT communities, particularly the T community, by going on this spiel about how Pence is gonna shovel coal into the TrannyTrain to take you all to Camp Happy Volts for corrective treatment.

But if they're making a fuss over practically nothing, I can't see this going on for much longer. Every myth must have a kernel of truth in it, or else it doesn't have any staying power. There's only so much they can embellish or completely fabricate before rigid reality steps in.

I mean, what are the main grievances of the left? Racism, sexism come to the top of my mind. There was once a time when we were a racist nation, was. There was once a time we were a sexist nation, past tense. So to reiterate my point, you can only stretch something so far until it can't be stretched further anymore.

People will soon realize that they are being accused of oppression by people who have never been oppressed in their entire lives.
