Please, K. You know that that nobody is making that claim, so your point is just a pundit's strawman. The evidence is there that Russia interfered in our election. Whether their goal was to get Trump elected or just to sow discord and distrust is not yet known, but the hacking happened and that's a problem.

And yes, Stu, we're world-class meddlers, too. That's not a good reason for our government to ignore foreign meddling into our own internal affairs. Personally, I think we'd all be safer if our government would stop all of the meddling, regardless of whether it's covert ops, hacking, drone strikes, or invasions, but in the meantime we are where we are and one of the things that our elected officials are supposed to do is safeguard our interests. That means identifying and responding to foreign interference in our political process, regardless of whether or not our own outrage is hypocritical. When our president-elect wants to pretend it never happened that's a problem. I'm sorry if his pride is hurt, but he was elected to serve our nation, not his own self-interest.

I'd hardly call them rival superpowers if they didn't at least try. I'd even be a little disappointed/surprised if they did not.

But according to all objective evidence put forth, the meddling they caused did NOT have any effect on the end-result of the presidential elections. The only reason this hasn't been put to bed is because somebody won't release the necessary papers, for political reasons naturally.

Goes back to what I was saying before. Everything is political; politics is in everything. All of this overnight-confidence in the intelligence community is manufactured, and the kind of CYA that plays right into their hands so they can keep their cushy pension.
