Yes. It's better off just keeping everything a secret. The less we know about God, the better off we are.

God is not like someone on a dating website...

He tells us exactly what hes like. He brings to light the truth about himself.

The boring answer is that language evolves over time, but God does not change. "Jealous" is a derivative of "zealous", meaning having intense feelings. God can not be "jealous" of anything or anybody if he is also omnipotent. He is a "zealous" God, meaning he feels strongly about certain things.

Now, I don't know the entire context of that passage since I'm waiting in a hallway, but someone feel free to add to that.

I believe God is jealous in the sense that he is fiercly protective of his people and what is his.

We shall have no other gods besides him

Without love there can be no jealousy.
