Evidence for God from Science

Guys, my son Duncan is almost 20, and a friend of his, same age, has been missing for the past 20 hours. His name is Micah. He was on foot, outside of his house, near dark, and just disappeared. He lives about 1/2 mile through the woods from us - the whole area has dense woods. His cellphone pinged to some very weak signals in the woods, but after a lot of people searching, nothing has been found. There is a rural secondary road that fronts these woods, goes far north. It's conceivable that someone picked him up in a vehicle. Obviously, his parents are devastated and are thinking the worst. Christian family and kid - our little community is very worried. Please pray for Micah and his family!

No, Rick - and it doesn't look good. Because he was on foot in a rural area, was home just at the edge of dark - there's very little probability that he didn't leave the area via a car. He's close with his family - very well liked, by a bit odd in that he doesn't read people or situations well. My son said he's very bold in evangelizing, but doesn't seem to perceive dangers in certain areas he should be wary of. It's inconceivable that he could have gotten far on foot, or someone wouldn't have seen him. He has some kind of daily med he must take. Unless he had a sudden medical issue, or is somehow lying on the ground in heavy vegetation, he's vanished. Obviously, he's not answering vocal shouts. Not answering his phone, which remains somewhere in the woods. But there are dirt roads all through this area. Ponds, too - a serious concern. But I can't imagine him walking into the woods after dark - lots of poisonous snakes. I may take a ride on some back roads before dark.

Guys, thanks for your prayers for Micah. He's with the Lord now.

Such sad news, late today, his body was found, not far from his house - I got the news not long after my son and I came back from riding some back roads looking for him. Only thing released is that they don't think it was foul play. They may not yet know the cause. Please just pray for his family - I can't imagine what they are feeling.

How is Duncan holding up?

Duncan wasn't real close to this kid (mostly saw him at the gym), but for a young guy, he is remarkably perceptive about how short life can be, and how difficult things can happen suddenly. A few months back, a girl he briefly had interest in (years back) died in a car accident.

You mentioned this kid was evangelizing? Didn't anyone spot something wrong...his depression maybe? His church group, if any?

My 23 year old cousin took her own life because of extremely harsh parents, mainly her father, my uncle was a tyrant to his family. She jumped from a traffic overhead down on the road, a 70 feet jump. Didn't die immediately and was in immense pain and That she didn't want to live when they brought her to the hospital. All she muttered was that she was in pain. Shortly after going into a coma, she passed away.

I mention this because I felt really bad that no one saw that coming, Didn't see her fall into depression and become suicidal.

I severed all ties all with my uncle after that.

Neo, I do know that the family is very well thought of by neighbors who have known them a very long time from church. And the kid was on some kind of medication - perhaps for depression? Bipolar? My son said he seemed to not have a filter - just said whatever happened to pop into his mind. Of course, no one knows what goes on in families. So, he was under some type of treatment - for what, I do not know. But Duncan said, while very friendly, he was exceptionally exuberant about speaking of Jesus and Scripture to people he didn't know very well - which comes off as kind of odd. So, he was certainly somewhat unusual. But I also know that the family's church is a good one, with solid teachings.
