Just thought it would be fun to reference some common misconceptions about how we mark time!
Many people wrongly suppose about the time abbreviations of A.D., B.C, B.C.E and C.E. Well, they typically get "B.C." correct, believing it to reference years "Before Christ," but then they often and wrongly think "A.D." means "after death." And then they see the modern abbreviations of "B.C.E" and "C.E." - and wonder even further what the differences are.
Here's an interesting article explaining the abbreviations A.D., B.C., B.C.E and C.E.

How amazing is it that most of the world - even the Islamic world - marks time itself by the birth of Jesus? Inaccurately so, but that was the original intent and today's widespread understanding. That the year we mark it from is an inaccurate measure from Jesus' actual birth date - well, blame that on Dionysius (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dionysius_Exiguus)
As for what year was Jesus actually born?

What day? Dec. 25th, of course!
