Here is a link that I came across a while ago that led me to take another look at what the Bible says about abuse and divorce.
Very significant to me was the historical and Scriptural context surrounding the "any cause" clause which provides additional insight into Jesus' response to the Pharisees in Matthew 19:3-9.
The OT divorce provisions in Exodus 21:10-11 also provide some additional Scriptural context.

Interesting interpretation.

One can argue that ANY act that is immoral ( including abuse of one that we have sworn to protect), can be just cause for divorce.

I would think it would be obvious and continuous, extreme, long-time physical, sexual or psychological abuse.

Well, the law already has that AND the law SHOULD be involved in any abusive relationship.

I agree with Wayne, if a partner abuses or abandons you, divorce should be on the table.
