This article ran in CT this year, and it's a good overview of Bible and ancient Near East and languages scholar Dr. Michael Heiser's books and analysis on a variety of interesting topics found in Scripture, including God's Divine Council, the Nephilim, the sons of God - and other debated things found in the Bible.

While I have many questions about some of Heiser's contentions, I will say he really make you think. One of his contentions is that Christians tend to discount much of the supernatural elements that is found throughout the Bible, and yet Heiser does not assign a supernatural explanation where he thinks it to be unwarranted. But he does note that there is a supernatural battle going on all around us that we cannot see and that we are often unaware of - and he references Scripture to reveal what it says about such things.
