I don't know if this is the lecture that Philip had in mind, but here is a link to an interesting lecture by Heiser on Armageddon.

Based on Heiser's identification of "Armageddon", we can see a direct correlation between John's vision in Rev 16:16 and Jesus' prophecy in Luke 21:20.
